Metropolitan Park Apartments

Metropolitan Park Apartments in downtown Grand Rapids was the inaugural project in the Michigan Cool Cities Program.  This building features a high-tech modern design and non-tradition construction materials brought together to form a stunning building.  The building site posed major challenges due to massive amounts of buried debris and unsuitable soil requiring the use of augured caissons to provide suitable bearing for the new building.  The zero-lot-line design of the building also posed challenges during construction, requiring the use of a portable tower crane during construction.
